News release from Concordia Lutheran High School:
Ice bucket challenges comes to Concordia Friday
(August 27, 2014) – The ice bucket challenge has reached the doors of Concordia Lutheran High School, and the students and staff are meeting it head on.
On Friday, during the Concordia-Bishop Dwenger football game, our students, teachers and administrators will take to the field (the track around the field) during halftime for a unique ice bucket challenge (game starts at 7 p.m.). Participants will pay $1 to be able to do the challenge on the field. The funds raised will go to the support The John Paul II Medical Research Institute. Donations also are being accepted at the school.
So far, more than $400 has been raised to support ALS research. We already have about 100 people participating and hope that number will grow by Friday. Also, we will be reading the names of friends or relatives that have suffered or are suffering from this disease prior to the challenge.
This is a great story and a great cause for our school.
