The indoor play area is located next to Barnes and Noble directly across from Gymbree. Children can crawl through, climb over or slide down 14 soft play structures. A 16 foot cherry blossom tree is in the center of the play area and symbolizes Fort Wayne’s connection with its sister city of Takaoka, Japan. Johnny Appleseed is the height stand character. The kids can also play on a mini version of the Old Fort, a colonial-era drum, and F22 Fighter Jet and a spool of Magnet Wire to name a few. All elements are made from a soft foam material and all are coated in an anti-bacterial finish.
In addition to the soft play area, Jefferson Pointe incorporated mini businesses. The facades identify the sponsors of the play area. Lutheran Children’s Hospital ER is the title sponsor followed by Adams Radio Group, 3 Rivers Federal Credit Union, Summit City Chevrolet and Aboite Dental. Each business sponsor will provide an activity for the child within their mini business.
The grand opening of the play area will be this Saturday at 11 am. There will be a ribbon cutting followed by children who will run through a cardboard brick wall to enter the play area.
