Traffic Stop Yields 1 Kilo of Heroin
Investigation Details:
On 8/14/2014 around 6:20 PM an Allen County Police Officer stopped a vehicle at 660 Covington Road for a traffic violation. When the Officer took the drivers information he learned that the driver, 32 year old Miguel Verduzco-Velazouez had a suspended license. As the officer exited his squad car the driver got out of the vehicle and ran from police. Officers gave chase through nearby Greenwood Cemetery where they apprehended the suspect a short time later. A cursory search of the vehicle by a Police K-9 gave an alert for the possible presence of narcotics. While searching the vehicle Allen County Police discovered a little over 1 Kilo of Heroin with an estimated street value of over 70 thousand dollars. The suspect was the only occupant in the vehicle. Miguel is being held no bond in the Allen County Jail on numerous charges.
