News release from the TinCaps:
TinCaps, Fifth Third Bank To Hold Jersey Design Contest
Fans Design And Decide What The TinCaps Will Wear On “Stand Up To Cancer Night”
(May 27, 2014) – When the TinCaps take the field on August 20, they won’t be wearing their typical home white pinstripe jerseys, or their Sunday red ensemble, either. Fort Wayne won’t even be donning its road grays or green batting practice tops. No, instead, the team will be wearing a new jersey for the first time ever. And the TinCaps need fans to design it.
Through the Fifth Third Bank Jersey Design Contest, one talented TinCaps fan will see his or her design come to fruition on the field during “Stand Up To Cancer Night” on Wednesday, August 20, when Fort Wayne hosts the Great Lakes Loons. The players’ game-worn jerseys will be auctioned off to fans at Parkview Field at the game with all proceeds going to fund cancer research.
“This is a tremendous opportunity with Fifth Third Bank to help fund breakthrough cancer research,” said Michael Limmer, TinCaps Vice President – Marketing & Promotions. “Everyone knows someone who has been affected by cancer, so this is our way of giving our fans their own personal touch to help us fight the disease.”
The TinCaps will select five finalists based on adherence to the theme of the design and a short essay explaining the design. The five finalists will have their design and short essay featured on TinCaps.com for fans to vote online to determine the grand prize winner.
The Fifth Third Bank Jersey Design Contest is open to all legal residents of the United States who are 18 years of age or older. Anyone younger than 18 also is eligible for the Contest with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
Fans can enter the Fifth Third Bank Jersey Design Contest by downloading a jersey design form on TinCaps.com or by picking up a physical copy in The Orchard Team Store at Parkview Field. The contest opens today. All entries must be received by Thursday, June 12, at 5:00 p.m (EST).
Credit and debit cards from Fifth Third Bank are the preferred currency of the Fort Wayne TinCaps. Fans who use Fifth Third Bank credit and debit cards at The Orchard Team Store at Parkview Field can earn 10 percent off merchandise.
