Fatal Accident Investigation
Date/Time of Incident: 05-27-2014 3:30 AM
Location of Incident: Butler Road and Butler Ct.
Victim: 2 Victims Deceased
On Tuesday May 27,2014 at approximately 3:30 AM, the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the intersection of Butler Road and Butler Court in reference to a personal injury accident. As officers and first responders arrived on the scene, they located a vehicle off the roadway fully engulfed in flames. Fire personnel quickly extinguished the fire. Investigators located one victim lying on the ground outside of the vehicle and located another victim inside the vehicle. Both victims were deceased at the scene.
Investigators believe that the vehicle was traveling in a northeast direction as the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. It is believed that speed may possibly be a factor in the crash. It is unclear at this time if alcohol was a factor in the crash. The names of the victims will be released by the Allen County Coroners Office.
This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department F.A.C.T Team, Allen County Prosecutors Office, and the Allen County Coroners Office.
