The 37th Annual Ventures in Creativity Show
(May 23, 2014) – The Fort Wayne Artists Guild and the University of Saint Francis School of Creative Arts are pleased to present the 37th Annual Ventures in Creativity. The art exhibition will run from July 12 through August 15, 2013 at the Weatherhead Gallery located on the Saint Francis campus in Fort Wayne.
The Fort Wayne Artists Guild is a non-profit organization located in Fort Wayne, Indiana committed to enhancing knowledge about the fine arts and to providing the opportunity for artistic growth. The Guild is a member of Arts United and Indiana Federation of Arts.
A reception for the artists and public will be held at the Weatherhead Gallery in the Mimi and Ian Rolland Art and Visual Communication Center on the Saint Francis campus on Saturday, July 12th, 6:00 – 9:00 pm.
Awards will be given at 7:00 pm.
Normal gallery hours for Ventures in Creativity are M-F 9:00 – 5:00 and Saturday 1:00 – 5:00.
The judge and workshop instructor this year is Wyatt LeGrand. Wyatt is a 2009 graduate of Indiana University where he majored in visual arts education. He quickly established himself as one of Indiana’s most promising young artists via sales and numerous best-of-show and merit awards in state and regional exhibitions. Wyatt’s primary pursuit is oil painting though he has also displayed formidable talent in drafting, ceramics, sculpture and metalsmithing.
Wyatt’s home is Bloomfield, a scenic small town in southern Indiana with a thriving art community There in the summer of 2009 he opened the LeGrand Art Studio and Gallery where he sells his work and instructs artists and students of art of all ages. “The studio,” says Wyatt, “is where I feel most comfortable . . . . it’s where I can pursue my strongest plassions: making art, studying art and teaching. I am very fortunate to be able to do what I love.
