News release from the TinCaps:
Bark in the Park Returning to Parkview Field
Dogs Welcome to TinCaps Game on Sunday, June 1st
(May 2, 2014) — The TinCaps are set to host their 2nd annual Bark in the Park at Parkview Field on Sunday, June 1, when Fort Wayne hosts the West Michigan Whitecaps at 3:05 p.m. As part of Bark in the Park, presented by the Petco Foundation and the Allen County SPCA, fans can bring their dogs to the game.
Pooch Passes are available for $12, offering lawn seating for fans and their dogs. In working with the Petco Foundation and the Allen County SPCA, a portion of each purchased Pooch Pass will be donated back to the Allen County SPCA to help continue their work in providing a safe haven for homeless cats and dogs in Northeast Indiana.
“We’re extremely excited to be bringing back Bark in the Park this season, thanks to our friends at the Petco Foundation and the Allen County SPCA,” TinCaps Corporate Partnerships Manager Tom Baxter said. “After the positive feedback we received during this event last season, we knew we had to do it again.”
Each Pooch Pass permits one dog and their owner. The deadline to purchase Pooch Passes is Friday, May 23, as space is limited to the first 150 dogs. Before receiving their Pooch Passes, owners must sign a waiver. All dogs attending must be at least 1 year of age and kept on a leash at all times. An animal control officer will be present during the game.
“The Allen County SPCA is grateful to the Petco Foundation for once again making Bark in the Park possible,” said Jessica Henry, Allen County SPCA Director. “We look forward to featuring several of our adoptable dogs during the game and raising awareness for homeless animals in our community.”
The Allen County SPCA promotes the prevention of cruelty to animals by providing a safe haven for animals. It also offers an effective and comprehensive adoption program, education and outreach programs for the community, and rehabilitation and medical services.
The Petco Foundation’s mission is to raise the quality of life for pets and people who love and need them. The Petco Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation (#33-0845930) that supports other IRS (Internal Revenue Service) designated non-profit pet related groups as well as municipal/governmental agencies and educational institutions involved in animal causes.
