April 28th: TinCaps announce roster moves
(April 28, 2014) – The Fort Wayne TinCaps, in conjunction with the San Diego Padres, announced the following roster moves today:
RHP Tony Rizzotti transferred to Short-Season Eugene. The 22-year-old is 2-1 with a 5.00 ERA in eight appearances. He has pitched 18 innings, allowed 10 earned runs, struck out 11 and walked five. The Arlington, Texas, native last pitched yesterday, working three scoreless innings against West Michigan.
RHP Wilson Santos transferred from Extended Spring Training to Fort Wayne. Santos, 22, was signed by the Padres as a non-drafted free agent on November 1, 2011. The native of Villa Vasquez, Dominican Republic, began his professional career with the Dominican Summer League Padres in 2012, and last year pitched for Michael Collins with the AZL Padres. While there in Peoria, Santos went 0-0 with a 4.80 ERA in 23 games. He struck out 27 and walked 21 in 30 innings. Santos will wear #33.
