TinCaps announce roster moves
(April 25, 2014) – The Fort Wayne TinCaps, in conjunction with the San Diego Padres, announced the following roster moves:
Effective Thursday, April 24th:
RHP Yimmi Brasoban transferred from Fort Wayne to Short-Season Eugene. Brasoban, 19, is 0-2 with a 14.29 ERA in four games. In 11 1/3 innings, he walked 11, struck out 11, and allowed 18 earned runs.
RHP Bryan Verbitsky transferred from Advanced-A Lake Elsinore to Fort Wayne. Verbitsky, 21, was a third-round selection of the Padres last year out of Hofstra University in New York, and was the first pitchers selected by San Diego in the draft. He began his professional career last season with Short-Season Eugene, and went 0-6 with a 4.01 ERA in 14 starts. Over 49 1/3 innings, he struck out 47, walked 38, and allowed 22 earned runs.
Effective Friday, April 25th:
First baseman Luis Tejada transferred from Fort Wayne to Double-A San Antonio. The 21-year-old Tejada, a 2013 Midwest League All-Star, is hitting .189 with no home runs and five runs batted in.
First baseman Jake Bauers transferred from extended spring training to Fort Wayne. Bauers, 18, was a seventh-round selection by the Padres out of Marina (CA) High School last year. With the Arizona League Padres in 2013, he hit .282 with one home run and 25 runs batted in.
