Winter storm to impact the area this weekend
(February 28, 2014) – A cold front will move through the area on Saturday and will stall south of the area Saturday night. A strong low pressure system will track along the boundary Saturday night through Sunday night, bringing snowfall to portions of the area. This could bring heavy snowfall during this timeframe to southern portions of the area, roughly along and south of a Monon, IN to Van Wert, OH line.
Therefore a winter storm watch has been issued for southern portions of the area from 1 AM EST Sunday through 7 AM EST Monday. Most of the area will see snowfall Saturday night as the front pushes through the area, with the best chances for snowfall and heaviest snowfall Sunday and Sunday night across southern portions of the area.
Total snowfall amounts of 3 to 6 inches are possible Saturday night through Monday morning for areas roughly north of the U.S. 24 corridor, with snowfall amounts of 6 to 10 inches possible along and south of the U.S. 24 corridor.
