News release from the City of Fort Wayne:

From Plowing to Filling
Street Crews Add Weekend Shifts for Pothole Duty

(February 21, 2014) – City of Fort Wayne Street Department crews will be out in full force, working overtime hours again this weekend in an effort to fill numerous potholes left by the recent freeze and thaw cycle.
Crews were out on Thursday but the rain and snow melt that flowed through the streets made it difficult to repair many potholes.

With hundreds of potholes visible throughout the City, motorists are urged to be alert and slow down.

Additionally, the Public Works Division will perform emergency repairs in the area of Catalpa Street and Jefferson Boulevard, near the viaduct. Crews will repair a portion of the street that was severely damaged by extreme weather conditions this winter. This work will begin at 9:00am Saturday morning. Drivers should expect delays and may want to plan an alternate route.

Citizens should call 311 to report a pothole. If it’s afterhours, callers should listen to the prompts to leave a message. When reporting a pothole it is important to be specific with a street address or other identifying location information.
