Blizzard Warning for western half of local NWS region

(January 5, 2014) – A rapidly intensifying surface low near Evansville Indiana will track northeast to near Cleveland Ohio by late this evening. Snow will intensify through this afternoon with sustained rates of 1-2″/hr before tapering off after 7 pm EST while winds become northwest and increase to 20 to 35 mph leading to significant blowing and drifting snow tonight. Temperatures will drop to below zero by daybreak Monday.
