Mad Ants Fall to Stampede
FORT WAYNE, IN (December 14, 2013) – The Mad Ants were defeated by the Idaho Stampede tonight at home, 94-98, dropping their record to 1-5 on the season. The Stampede were led by Pierre Jackson who had a huge night, netting 49 points—half of the Stampede’s total points. The Ants were led in scoring by Ron Howard and Sadiel Rojas, who contributed 20 and 19, respectively.
The Mad Ants started the game hot and led by as many as 12 points in the first quarter, which ended 29-19 in favor of the Ants. The Stampede responded to the 10 point deficit, however, and outscored the Mad Ants 32-20 in the second quarter, led by Jackson who put up 11 points during the period.
The third quarter was not much different than the second, with the Stampede outscoring the Mad Ants 32-21 and Jackson doing most of the scoring for the visiting team. Jackson scored 10 straight points for during the last 1:34 of the third quarter to give Idaho an 83-70 advantage heading into the final period.
The Mad Ants were able to respond in the fourth quarter as they outscored Idaho 24-15, but the effort was not enough to overcome Jackson and the Stampede. Idaho’s record improves to 8-0 on the season.
The Mad Ants are back in action tomorrow in Delaware against the 87ers.
