Center to remain open on weekends(August 9, 2013) – Science Central has announced the scheduling of its annual fall shutdown to perform exhibit and building maintenance, beginning Monday, September 2, to Friday, September 6; and from Monday, September 9, to Friday, September 13. The popular science center will be open for business on Saturdays and Sundays, August 31 and September 1; September 7 & 8; and September 14 and 15.
During the school year, Science Central is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, and is open Wednesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sundays, noon-5 p.m. School year hours will go into effect on Tuesday, August 20.
“We appreciate the community’s understanding as we close our doors for maintenance,” said Science Central Executive Director Martin Fisher. “We want our center to be in excellent condition for our visitors, and taking ten days to do scheduled maintenance each year helps us keep our historic building in good operating condition. We’ll re-open on September 18th, and will start to get ready for the grand opening of Science On a Sphere in early October.”
