Structure fire at 3215 Senate Avenue

(July 18, 2013) – The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 3215 Senate Ave. On arrival crews found heavy smoke and fire coming from the rear of the structure with extension to the front of the house.

Firefighters made quick entry into the home where they located one victim. As crews continued to battle the blaze, a second victim was located minutes later. Both subjects were pronounced dead on scene. During overhaul firefighters located a dog that perished in the blaze. At this time, the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The victims’ identification and cause of death will be released by the Coroner.

The FWFD was assisted on scene by: TRAA; Nipsco; AEP; FWPD; Allen County Coroner’s Office; and the ATF.

Additional information will be released as the investigation evolves.
