The Fort Wayne Children’s Choir is proud to announce their upcoming 40th Anniversary Celebration Concert on Sunday, April 21 at 4:00pm at the Rhinehart Music Center on the IPFW campus.
All seven of the performing ensembles will be featured on this celebration concert. The ensembles will perform pieces by Gwyneth Walter, Dan Kallman, René Clausen, and many others. The program will include “Life Has Loveliness to Sell”, a piece commissioned by the Fort Wayne Children’s Choir and written by Dominic DiOrio, Assistant Professor of Music at Indiana University. Dr. DiOrio will be present at the concert to conduct the Concert Choir in performing this piece.
Over the rich 40 year history of the Fort Wayne Children’s Choir, the organization has served over 5,000 children from the community. With humble beginnings, the Fort Wayne Children’s Choir started with one ensemble as the Children of Peace Choristers. Over the 40 years, the organization has grown to seven ensembles, including traditional campus ensembles and a community choir, with an average membership of 255 annually. We encourage alumni and patrons to join us in honoring all those who made these last 40 years of music education possible. Many former staff members will be in attendance, including founder, Mrs. Jocelyn Basse.
Tickets are available by calling the Larson Box Office at IPFW at (260) 481-6555. Tickets will also be available at the door. Tickets are $10 for Adults, $5 for students and seniors.
