Choreographers Laboratory Performance

Fort Wayne Dance Collective presents a Choreographers Laboratory Performance, March 2 at 7 p.m. and March 3 at 2 p.m. at the Elliot Studio Theatre, 437 East Berry St. Fort Wayne, IN. This performance is designed to foster the growth of local choreographers and inspire collaboration. Tickets are $8 adults and $5 child and can be purchased by calling the Fort Wayne Dance Collective, 424-6574. Audience space is limited. Audience members are invited to give choreographers written feedback after each dance is presented.
Nine choreographers will present their pieces created during the last three months including guest artist, Bob Eisen. Bob Eisen is a dancer, choreographer, improviser and teacher. He has been active in the field of dance for 35 years. In Chicago, where he lived for many years, he was a co-founder and, for 20 years, a co-manager, of Links Hall Studio, an alternative performance/workspace. He was a prominent member of the performing arts community in that city, receiving numerous awards, grants and fellowships, both for his creative work as well as his support of the dance/performing arts community. During this time he traveled and performed throughout the United States. In the year 2000 he moved to New York City. For one full year from 2004 to 2005 he traveled and danced his way around the world. The last five years have found him living equal time in New York and Russia, where he lives, dances, travels, teaches and studies the language. This will be his fourth visit to Fort Wayne and the Fort Wayne Dance Collective.
Other local choreographers include Allison Ballard, Brittney Coughlin, Alison Gerardot, Peter Johnson, Liz Monnier, Heidi Prussing, Brennan Stillman, Erlinda Wall, and Becca Wegner. Performing groups include dancers from Memorial Park Middle School, Weisser Park Elementary School, South Side High School, dAnce.Kontemporary, and the Jesters from St. Francis University.
