Officer Involved Shooting Investigation udpate

Victim: Adult male; deceased at the scene.
The officer involved shooting remains under investigation at this time. Investigators have had the opportunity to review video surveillance from in-store camera(s) at the CVS Pharmacy, and they have confirmed that the shooting victim and the armed robbery suspect are one in the same person; his identity to be confirmed and released by the Allen County Coroner.
In accordance with departmental policy, two officers have been placed on administrative leave; a thirty-one year veteran of the department who fired upon the suspect, and a second officer who was in close proximity to the shooting incident.
The incident remains under investigation with the City of Fort Wayne Police, the Indiana State Police, the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, and the Allen County Coroner’s office. It is the department’s standard procedure when a police action shooting results in the death of any individual for the Indiana State Police to be called upon to conduct an independent parallel investigation to provide an objective view.
There were no reported injuries to any officers, or to the witness(es) at the CVS Pharmacy.
