The City of Fort Wayne Human Resources and Allen County Human Resources divisions and Fort Wayne Metropolitan Human Relations Commission are inviting the public to participate in a celebration of National Diversity Day on Friday, Oct. 5th. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the lobby of the Rousseau Centre (the former City-County Building), 1 E. Main St.
The event will feature a special presentation, beginning at 12 p.m., with remarks by Deputy Mayor Mark Becker; Allen County Commissioners Linda Bloom, Therese Brown and Nelson Peters, and a keynote speech by Kenneth C. Christmon, Associate Vice Chancellor for Diversity and Multicultural Affairs at IPFW. The observance coincides with National Diversity Day – which celebrates diversity and provides a forum to learn about different cultures and ideologies.

Among the entities included are the Fort Wayne Police Department; Allen County Sheriff’s Department; Fort Wayne Fire Department; the City of Fort Wayne’s Diversity Advisory Council; Allen County Parks and the City and County Human Resources divisions.
