News release from the Fort Wayne Fire Department:
House fire at 1819 Reidmiller Avenue
FWFD units were called to a working structure fire in the 1800 block of Reidmiller. The first unit was on the scene within 3 minutes of notification and firefighters immediately rescued 5 occupants from the front porch roof of the house along with the help of FWPD officers. Heavy fire had involved the first floor of the house and the porch. Firefighters searched the remainder of the structure for any other occupants and extinguished the fire within 18 minutes. No other occupants or pets were inside at the time of the fire. All occupants refused transportation to the hospital. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
