Shooting Incident at the corner of Standish/Fairfax

Date/Time of Incident: July 14, 2012/8:29pm
Location of Incident: Standish/Fairfax
Victim: Adult Male, Critical Condition

On July 14th, 2012 at approximately 8:29 pm Officers responded to the corner of Standish/Fairfax in regards to a shooting. Officers located an adult male victim suffering from apparent gunshot(s) wounds on Standish just North of Fairfax. Officers rendered aid until paramedics arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital in critical condition.

There were possible witnesses on the scene. The witnesses were transported to the Police Operation Center to be interviewed. According to preliminary statements the victim was walking down the street when the suspect vehicle stopped and the suspect exited the vehicle opened fire on the vicitm, got back in the vehicle and left the area possibly North bound on Standish. The vehicle was described as a silver passenger car.

This incident remains under investigation by The City of Fort Wayne Police Department, Allen County Prosecuting Attorneys Office, and The Coroners Officer.
