News release from Visit Fort Wayne:

34th Annual Gold Wing Road Riders “Wing Ding” Kicks?Off at Memorial Coliseum

The Gold Wing Road Riders Association has arrived in Fort Wayne for its 34th Annual Wing Ding Event, which runs from July 3?7 at the Memorial Coliseum. Between 7,500 and 8,000 people will be coming to Fort Wayne for the event, which will bring between $4.5 and $5.5 million to the community.

Thanks to the City, County and I&M crews, power has been restored to the Coliseum and Fort Wayne hotels, so we are ready to host this great group in our community! One note: with the added debris on the roads and some of the traffic lights still out, we ask that drivers be extra cautious, as there will now also be increased motorcycle traffic on the roads.

Attendees will be arriving July 3 and the kickoff ceremony will be held at the Coliseum at 8 am on Wednesday, July 4. A few other events of note include:

[li]”Horses and Horsepower” Welcome Party – Grabill, Indiana Tuesday, July 3 from 6?10 pm[/li]
[li]IPFW Fireworks Rooftop Party and Light Parade Wednesday, July 4 at 9:30 pm[/li]
[li]Grand Parade (from Memorial Coliseum to Parkview Field) Friday, July 6 at 5:30 pm[/li]
[/list]

Other activities include an extensive trade show at the Coliseum, Poker Rides throughout NE Indiana, TinCaps Night at Parkview Field, and bus tours to Auburn and DeBrand Fine Chocolates.

This is the third time Fort Wayne has hosted Wing Ding in the past 10 years.
