Update: Robbery Investigation, Second Arrest Made

Date/Time of Incident: June 20, 2012 / 10:38 a.m.

Location of Incident: 2809 E. State Blvd.

Robbery Victim: Do’s Jewelers

Battery Victim: Rang Q. Do, age 54, Fort Wayne; remains hospitalized and has been upgraded to fair condition.

Loss: None

 

Arrested: Theron A. Smith, age 19, Fort Wayne

Charge: Robbery Causing Serious Bodily Injury

A second arrest has been made in the attempted robbery investigation at 2809 E. State Blvd., Do’s Jewelers, during which a store employee was struck by the perpetrators and suffered serious injury(ies). Today, Theron A. Smith, age 19, of Fort Wayne was taken into police custody and transported to the Allen County Jail on a felony charge of Robbery-Causing Serious Bodily Injury.

Investigators advise that an additional arrest is forthcoming in this investigation.

There is nothing further at this time with regard to the investigation. The incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department, and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. Anyone with information about this attempted robbery investigation is asked to contact the City of Fort Wayne Police Department or Crime Stoppers.
