Shooting Investigation
Date/Time: June 8, 2012 / 9:13 pm
Location: 5727 S. Anthony Blvd., Cap’N Cork
Victim: Adult Male, DeceasedOn 6/8/12 at approximately 9:13 pm the City of Fort Wayne Police Department was dispatched to 5727 South Anthony Blvd. (Cap’N Cork) in regards to a shooting. Upon arrival Officers located an adult male who appeared to have multiple gunshot wounds lying in the entry way of the liquor store. The adult male was pronounced deceased at the scene by Paramedics. The Allen County Coroner will determine the exact cause and manner of death and will confirm and release the identity of the victim.
Witnesses and patrons of the business advised that a verbal altercation ensued between the victim and another adult male. The verbal argument then became physical. During the course of the physical confrontation the suspect shot the victim multiple times, then fled the scene prior to police arrival. The witnesses are being interviewed and information is still forthcoming about a possible suspect description.
This incident remains under investigation but the City of Fort Wayne Police Department, Allen County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
