More seating opened for Chamber’s annual meeting with keynote speaker Gov. Daniels
(October 21, 2011) – Because of overwhelming ticket demand, The Greater Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce has opened an overflow room to allow for an additional 100 seats at its annual meeting at noon on Nov. 15 at The Chamber building, 826 Ewing St., Fort Wayne, featuring keynote speaker Gov. Mitch Daniels.
The Chamber’s Anthony Wayne Ballroom on the second floor will provide a live video of the entire event as it happens on the third floor in The Chamber’s Women’s Club Ballroom. Chamber members attending the event in the overflow seating section will enjoy the same great lunch and exceptional networking opportunities.
“The Chamber is honored to have Gov. Daniels attend our annual meeting,” said Chamber President and CEO Michael Landram. “The governor’s passion for the business community makes him an excellent choice as keynote speaker. Chamber members will benefit greatly from Gov. Daniels’ wisdom and insight.”
Members may purchase the tickets for $35 a piece at fwchamber.org/annualmeeting. Tickets are reserved exclusively for the first 100 Chamber members who register.
Also, the 2011 Chamber Business Awards will be handed out for CEO, Employee, Small and Large Business of the Year. Chamber members who meet the following criteria are eligible for nomination:
- Small Business of the Year: Presented to a Fort Wayne Chamber member business which has been in operation for at least five years and has fewer than 50 full-time equivalent employees. This company will have contributed to the community, has a reputation for integrity and fair business practice and has examples of product or management innovation and successful problem-solving.
- Large Business of the Year: Same qualifications as above, with the business having 50 or more full-time equivalent employees.
- CEO of the Year: Presented to the CEO of a Fort Wayne Chamber member who has made unique contributions not only to their business and employees, but to the Fort Wayne community as a whole.
- Employee of the Year: Presented to the employee of a Fort Wayne Chamber member who serves as a positive role model in the workplace along with showing exceptional dedication to advancing the interests of his or her organization.
