Local Rotary Clubs Partner to Raise Money for Polio
5K Walk/Run Big Success

(September 12, 2011) – The Anthony Wayne Rotary Club and the Rotary Club of Fort Wayne joined forces on Aug. 20, 2011 to eradicate polio through a 5k Run/Walk fundraiser.

More than 200 registered for the race, held at Shoaff Park in Fort Wayne. The event raised more than $2,500, which will be donated to Rotary International’s Foundation. It’s through donations to the Foundation that Rotary is able to fulfill its promise to create a polio-free world, and its mission to “advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty.”

Special thanks goes to sponsors: Dr. Jason Russell of Optimum Performance, Stetzel Dental Group, Brotherhood Mutual, Pine Ridge Racquet & Fitness Club, Aaron Chiropractic, Tredway Pools, Salin Bank, Bill Harris, Lancia Homes, Overhead Door Co. of Ft. Wayne, Northrop Grumman and Dr. Gregory Lowe.
