TinCaps Announce 2012 Schedule
Dates, times, and promotions released for Parkview Field’s 4th season
(August 25, 2011) – The Fort Wayne TinCaps released their schedule for the 2012 season Thursday, August 25th. With three seasons in Parkview Field to use as a guide, the TinCaps look to build on the success of the last three years.
“Parkview Field has become an exciting downtown entertainment destination,” stated TinCaps President, Mike Nutter. “The support Fort Wayne and the surrounding communities have shown this team and this facility have been tremendous. We make our best effort each and every day to provide a high level of quality entertainment. We believe our 2012 schedule sets us up for another season of giving the fans a family-friendly atmosphere at an affordable price.”
Season tickets, group outing areas, as well as all individual ticket prices will remain the same for the 2012 season at Parkview Field.
In addition to all home game dates and times, the team also announced fireworks dates, day-of-the-week promotions, theme nights, and special entertainment. “We have a record 27 firework shows scheduled for the 2012 season,” said Nutter, “that is four more than our previous high. We are also bringing back fan favorites such as Family Feast nights continuing on Mondays with a $1.00 food menu, Thirsty Thursdays with $1.00 beer, Theme Night Fridays, and Player Autographs on Sunday afternoons.”
Other regular season highlights include Opening Day 2012 on Thursday, April 5th, which will include a post-game fireworks show. “Opening Day has become a tradition at Parkview Field, with sell-outs each of the last three seasons” said Nutter. “We will continue to commemorate the start of the season with unique promotions.” The team will play home games over Memorial Day Weekend as well as the July 4th holiday, with special fireworks shows planned to commemorate each.
The TinCaps are expanding post-game fireworks dates by including shows on a record six Thursday nights, two Monday nights, and even during two Wednesday evening games. The schedule also includes seven Friday firework dates and eight shows on Saturdays. “We saw tremendous positive feedback from our midweek firework displays during the 2010 and 2011 seasons,” said Nutter. “With almost 50 sellouts over the last two years there was a need to add additional shows for next season to keep up with demand.”
Entertainment acts for the 2012 season were also announced, including appearances by Myron Noodleman, BirdZerk, the ZOOperstars, QuickChange, and Jake the Diamond Dog. The team also had overwhelming feedback on new entertainment acts that performed at the ballpark in 2011, such as The Amazing Christopher and the Russian Bar Trio – both are expected to return next season. Additional promotional and entertainment announcements are expected in the coming months as plans are finalized.
2012 Season ticket packages are now available, with existing season ticket holders having a priority period to renew and reserve their same seat locations for 2012.
Groups who enjoyed outings and picnics during the 2011 season will have an early period for booking an outing for next season, which will begin in the coming weeks. Groups that did not have an outing in 2011 are welcome to contact the team to be placed on a waiting list.
