News release from the Apartment Association of Fort Wayne:
Apartment Association donates items to ‘Tools for School’
(August 18, 2011) – Members of the Apartment Association of Fort Wayne-NE Indiana (AAFW-NEI) recently collected school supplies and monetary donations as part of a community outreach activity in support of The Salvation Army’s “Tools for School” program. A total of $50 and nearly 300 school supplies – ranging from composition books to highlighters and other items – were collected and purchased from donations by AAFW-NEI members.
Items for the “Tools for School” program were collected at the Association’s June and July Breakfast Connection membership meetings as well as at the Lake Avenue headquarters of the AAFW-NEI, according to Beth Wyatt, Executive Director.
The Association’s Community Outreach Committee organized the “Tools for School” collection. This is the third year that the Association has contributed to The Salvation Army’s “Tools for Schools” drive. The program provides basic school supplies for families who cannot otherwise afford them. This is just one of the philanthropic projects served by the Apartment Association.
