Mayor Henry Statement on Council and Permitting Delay
“We surveyed over 75 of the community’s top developers and contractors, and their number one priority is streamlining our permitting process. They told us they needed it done now. I am disappointed that City Council President Mitch Harper has chosen to ignore the business community, and delay the process. A bipartisan committee of city, county and business leaders have been working on this solution for over a year, and it’s time for action, not more red-tape.” – Mayor Tom Henry

WOW, King Henry surveyed over 75 of the community’s top developers and contractors, but as usual he didn’t survey the taxpayers who have to pay the $1.4 million to pay for work that the City should already be doing. He makes it sound like the County is paying for half the expensive. Isn’t he smart enough to realize that people in the city are paying double; we pay both City and County taxes.
And don’t you know, the polling of the 75 developers and contractors included a note about contributing to the Henry campaign? Oh, surely not?
