Last Friday, April 8, 2011, was the end of the pre-primary campaign finance reporting period.
Candidates have until noon this Friday, April 15, 2011, to file their pre-primary campaign finance reports with the Allen County Election Board.  This include unopposed candidates.
There are already a slew of reports filed which may be accessed here.
Although not an exact indicator of how a candidate will perform in the election, they can divulge all sorts of information about a candidate. Â Where their money is coming from, i.e. inside Fort Wayne, Allen County, State of Indiana or other parts or even from Political Action Committees or Unions. Â The reports can also offer insight into how easily a candidate is able to raise money.
It will be worth a look to see how the top three Republican Mayoral candidates are faring against a strong Democratic incumbent, Mayor Tom Henry. Â Henry had a balance on hand in January of just over a half a million dollars while the most one of his three main Republican challengers reported was just over $101,000.
Stay tuned!
