News release from Congressman Marlin Stutzman:
Stutzman Comments on Obama Fiscal Year 2012 Budget
(Washington, DC – February 14, 2011) – Congressman Marlin Stutzman (IN-03) along with the other members of the Budget Committee received President Obama’s Budget today. “This is not even an attempt at a balanced budget.” Stutzman stated, “Washington is the only place where spending, taxing and borrowing too much is seen as a good thing. A budget that increases taxes on small businesses and job creators and runs a $1.6 trillion deficit will kill job growth and put America on the fast track to bankruptcy. A sensible budget plan for the remainder of this fiscal year and the next will be the only way to strengthen the economy and allow business to create jobs.”
The following is part of a statement issued by House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan. “We cannot tax, spend and borrow our way to prosperity. Where the President has fallen short, Republicans will work to chart a new course – advancing a path to prosperity by cutting spending, keeping taxes low, reforming government, and rising to meet the challenges of our time.”
