New look

You may have noticed a new look this morning on the blog.

One of the things I’ve been unhappy with is the way the blog had been organized.  I thought it was hard to find information and the possibility of overload was great.  This new format will allow easier location of the posts you are most interested with little or no hassle.

If you look at the top of this page, there are two menus.  The top menu is basic links to the website while the second menu allows for the most popular areas of the blog to be easily reached.  For instance, want to surf events in the community?  Click on ‘Happenings’ and select the ‘Community Calendar’ option.  This will be pull up the last posts on the blog about upcoming community events.

There is also an optional slider which I will be putting into play at some point soon.   Right now, I am thinking this slider will be highlights of photo and video work of events that I cover.  One of the main staples of this website used to be photography and video work.  I’d like to make it so once again.

This is just a brief post about the new format and possibilities.  I’m always open to feedback and ideas.  There are still some features to be installed and some ideas to be worked on, but I think this a huge step in the right direction.
