Four-day weekend for FWCS students
School will not be in session for Fort Wayne Community Schools students on Friday, Jan. 14.
As established in the 2010-11 calendar, Jan. 14 is the last day of the first semester and reserved as a teacher work day, designed to give teachers time to work on grades and other work as needed. In the event of a school cancelation prior to Jan. 14, the day can be used as an emergency make-up day. FWCS has not yet had to cancel school this year, however, so students will have the day off.
Additionally, students and staff will have Monday, Jan. 17, off as FWCS schools and offices are closed in recognition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
