University of Saint Francis to host educators showcase
(January 6, 2011) – The School of Professional Studies at the University of Saint Francis will host a Best Practice Showcase for grades K-12 educators in public, private and charter schools, school counselors and psychologists and social workers on Saturday, Feb. 6 from 8 a.m.-12:45 p.m. in the Doermer Health Sciences Building and the Pope John Paul II Center.
The showcase is a collaborative professional development initiative, and highlights elementary, middle and secondary school educators as they present outstanding professional practices in effective classroom management, instructional/assessment differentiation, literacy strategies, student engagement and technology.
The showcase will also address problem solving, motivating the unmotivated, working with English language learner students, assessment and development/management of work stations.
The following sessions will be offered:
- Session A—8-8:55 a.m.
- Session B—9-9:55 a.m.
- Session C—10-10:55 a.m.
- Session D—11-11:50 a.m.
The showcase includes a luncheon at the university’s North Campus from 12:45-1:30 p.m. for those who pre-register. The cost is $15 pre-registration and $20 at the door. The cost for students is $10 pre-registration and $15 at the door. The pre-registration deadline is Friday, January 15.
