Holiday Houses for Habitat presents TUBACHRISTMAS
Sunday, December 19th 2 pm; Free and Open to the Public
The Grand Wayne Center will come alive with the sounds of TUBACHRISTMAS as dozens of tuba and euphonium players join together
to play an impromptu holiday concert at the Holiday Houses for Habitat snow village showcase.Tuba and euphonium players are encouraged to just “show up” for these impromptu concerts that attract participants aged 8 to over 90 years! The warm, rich organ?like sound of the tuba?euphonium choir has won the ears and hearts of every audience. It is no wonder that TUBACHRISTMAS has become a Christmas tradition in cities throughout the world.
Last year was the first TUBACHRISTMAS event in Fort Wayne in 15 years and it attracted 26 participants – we expect even more this year! Tuba Players should arrive at 12:30 for a 1 pm rehearsal The Concert open to the public will begin at 2 pm. For more information, visit twww.tubachristmas.com.
The third annual “Holiday Houses for Habitat” snow village showcase runs through December 23rd. The showcase is on display at the Grand Wayne Center and includes expanded villages, exciting animation, model trains, and an exhibit based on the classic movie “A Christmas Story.” This event is Indiana’s largest display of Department 56 ceramic snow village homes and accessories.
