Stutzman votes to protect American taxpayers

Press release from Indiana 3rd Congressional District Congressman Marlin Stutzman’s office:

Stutzman votes to protect American taxpayers

(Washington, DC) – Congressman Marlin Stutzman voted tonight to protect the taxpayers from an irresponsible increase in tax rates on American families and not reward the government for reckless spending. By passing a less than perfect bill, we can avoid increasing taxes on individuals and small businesses and begin the next Congress on strong footing. “I refuse to increase the debt ceiling, it is time to roll up our sleeves and cut spending and stop penalizing Hoosier taxpayers.”

“Let me be clear, like my Republican colleagues voting against this measure, I am for making the current tax rates permanent and to eliminate the Death Tax.” Small business owners need a set of tax rules so they can focus on increasing business investment and driving job creation. Congressman Stutzman has Co-Sponsored the Pence-DeMint Tax Relief Certainty Act to protect the American people by making permanent, honest tax relief.

“Refusing to take more of taxpayers’ money is not ‘spending we wish we could afford’, taking taxpayers’ money is spending the taxpayer cannot afford.”

Congressman Stutzman represents the 3rd Congressional District of Indiana. The 3rd District contains all of DeKalb, Kosciusko, Lagrange, Noble, Steuben, and Whitley counties; as well as parts of Allen and Elkhart counties.
