D.O. McComb & Sons to participate in Memory Stars event at Parkview Field
(November 11, 2010) – For the second consecutive year, D.O. McComb and Sons will help facilitate the Memory Stars event in downtown Fort Wayne. The overwhelming success of the first Memory Stars event brings back the large rope light stars and shooting stars in honor or memory of a loved one featured on the Parkview Field concourse.
The opening ceremony will be Sunday, November 21, at 6:30pm for community members who have designated a star for their loved one. The glowing stars will be available for the public to view after the downtown lighting ceremony on Wednesday, November 24, and each Saturday through December 18 from 5-7pm, with live music at Parkview Field.
The Memory Stars give anyone in the community the opportunity to remember their loved one with a beautifully lit star and also by sharing stories and memories, smiles and tears with those around them.
Last year, 50 stars were lit at Parkview Field, helping raise much-needed funds for a local nonprofit. This holiday season, McComb and Sons’ target is to light up more than 200 stars, once again benefiting many organizations in the Fort Wayne area.
