Press release from American Eagle Airlines:
American Eagle Airlines Announces Increased Service From Chicago O’Hare to Fort Wayne, Ind.
Eagle to Offer Four Daily Nonstops, Beginning Feb. 10, 2011
(FORT WORTH, Texas, Nov. 8, 2010 /PRNewswire/) – American Eagle, the regional affiliate of American Airlines, today announced it is adding another daily round-trip flight between Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) and Fort Wayne International Airport (FWA) in Fort Wayne, Ind., beginning Feb. 10. The new service will be operated with 50-seat Embraer ERJ-145 jets.
“We’re delighted to increase our service from Fort Wayne to American’s cornerstone hub in Chicago,” said Gary Foss, Vice President – Planning and Marketing for American’s regional network. “Now with four daily nonstop flights, customers from Northeastern Indiana will have even more travel options from which to choose and more convenient connections in Chicago to destinations throughout American’s vast global network.”
“We are encouraged to see that American Airlines has identified Fort Wayne’s need for additional flights to Chicago,” said Andi Udris, president of the Fort Wayne-Allen County Economic Development Alliance. “Our strong connection with the business center of the Midwest will be well served by this increase in air service. Our ability to retain and attract jobs to the area is directly impacted by the capacity of our transportation systems and the connections it makes with domestic and international markets.”
“We are pleased that our partnership with American Airlines now offers greater domestic and international capacity with connections over Chicago,” said Torrance Richardson, Executive Director of Airports with the Fort Wayne-Allen County Airport Authority. “The addition of this flight represents a 24 percent increase in capacity for FWA passengers on American Airlines over the Chicago hub.”
Here is the schedule, beginning Feb. 10 (all times local):
