Press release from Indiana Michigan Power:

I&M afternoon storm restoration report

(Released at 5:06 pm) – Crews have made good progress in restoring service to customers following the wind storm that passed through I&M service territory in the midmorning hours of October 26. I&M predicted that as many as 14,000 customers experienced an interruption in service due to the storm. As of this report over 5,000 customers in Indiana and just over 1,000 customers in Michigan are awaiting restoration of service. Although the initial storm front has passed, wind gusts through the day continue to contribute to service interruptions in our service area.

I&M estimates that service will be restored to all customers in southwest Michigan and northwest Indiana by midnight tonight. Service to all customers in northeast and east central Indiana should be restored by midnight tomorrow night.

Thank you for your efforts to promote public safety by reminding your audiences to stay away from downed power lines and in conveying important emergency preparedness tips.
