“The Christian Mosaic: Early Church Diversity” IPFW University Religious Forum
(October 13, 2010) – The Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) University Religious Forum will host, “The Christian Mosaic: Early Church Diversity” on Thursday, Oct. 21, from noon to 1:15 p.m. in Walb Student Union, Rooms 222-224-226. Ben Gates, professor of history and director of Campus Ministry, will present a lecture on the diversity of the early Christian church (first-third centuries, A.D.) as the context for the Christian Mosaic series that will be featured throughout the 2010-2011 academic year.
Gates has been active in parish and campus-based Christian ministry for more than 20 years. He earned a Ph.D. in colonial American history from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, specializing in colonial religious history. His research specialty is Puritanism in America and the work of Anglican missionaries in New England during the 18th century.
The presentation is free and open to the public. A simple lunch is served; donations are accepted. Reservations are not necessary. The series is sponsored by IPFW Campus Ministry.
