International techno artists Perc and Fort Wayne native Kyle Geiger to perform
International techno producers Perc, of London, UK and Fort Wayne native Kyle Geiger will be headline performers this Saturday, October 9, 2010 at Second Saturday, an electronic music monthly held in the Tiger Room at Calhoun Street Soups, Salads and Spirits. (CS3).
Regional DJ talents Deflipo and Sneaky will also be performing.
Second Saturday is a monthly electronic music event featuring national and regional DJs and producers.

Perc – Perc Trax/Kompakt/Drumcode/CLR – London, UK
From his earliest demos to his current position as a key figure in the global techno scene, Perc (aka Ali Wells) has taken the established forms of the music he loves and twisted them into something new and fresh.Building up successful relationships with scene-leading labels such as Drumcode, Ovum, Kompakt and CLR whilst unleashing a strong run of releases on his own Perc Trax label has seen Perc’s influence and support grow even further. With each release his sonic experimentation has taken another leap forward without losing sight of the dancefloor.
2009’s Throb’ on Ovum and Submit’ on CLR brought Perc his first support from the key Berlin tastemakers and his 2010 releases including BCG’ (Perc Trax) and Monad V’ (Stroboscopic Artefacts) have made him an essential artist for those with an interest in techno that refuses to conform to preconceptions.
As Perc’s profile grows his booking schedule has become busier and Perc’s travels have covered all of Europe plus tours of USA, Canada, Mexico, South Africa and Japan. Personal highlights for Perc’s touring include a back-to-back set with Oliver Ho in Tokyo, his debut at Tresor in early 2010, being part of the Drumcode tent at Dance Valley in 2008 and playing on the same bill as Richie Hawtin and Speedy J at 2008’s Electric Deluxe Queen’s Day party at Melkweg, Amsterdam.
This year Perc has frequently played alongside Josh Wink as part of the ’15 Years Of Ovum Tour’ and will make his debut at Berlin’s legendary Panorama Bar in September.

Hailing from a region known for its basketball and corn, the emergence of an artist from Indiana such as Kyle Geiger is marked as seldom at best. Kyle Geiger’s quick rise in the international dance scene is due to both his production prowess, and his explosive decks and effects DJ sets that bridge the divide between techno and minimal. Kyle is not a producer first, DJ second, but chooses to look at both aspects of DJ and production as a whole; one is not complete without the other. Originally inspired by the harder, percussive stylings of late 90’s Swedish techno featured on seminal labels like Drumcode and Code Red, Kyle has witnessed the evolution of the genre as it morphed into a more accessible, groove based sound. Still loving the energy and power of the earlier phases of techno while embracing the genre’s changes, Kyle has refined his productions and DJ sets into what very well may be a new breed of soundscapes that pushes things forward for the next generation of techno to come.Since being named in DJ Mag as the “breakthrough DJ of 2008” by Adam Beyer, the years following have proven to be nothing short of that title for Kyle Geiger. Within the first year of his premier vinyl release, Kyle achieved international notoriety, a feat that many never accomplish in their entire career as a DJ/producer. Having played literally all over America, the Indiana-based producer is set to storm the international scene. With multiple European and South American tours under his belt already, including two performances at the widely touted Berghain in Berlin (Voted by ResidentAdvisor.net as the 1 club in the world), rounded off with a stop at the Dance Valley festival in Amsterdam this summer, Kyle is certainly prepared for the big things the future is already promising to bring.
