Draft EPA Brownfield’s Assessment Coalition Grant Application for Public Comment

(September 14, 2010) – Region III-A Development and Regional Planning Commission in partnership with the Northeastern Indiana Regional Coordinating Council (NIRCC) plans to apply to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on or about October 15, 2010 for a $1 million Brownfield’s Assessment Coalition grant to fund a  community-wide assessment of hazardous materials and petroleum sites.  The project’s service area will include Adams, Allen (excluding Fort Wayne), LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wells, and Whitley (excluding Columbia City) counties in northeast Indiana.  Region III-A and NIRCC are requesting comments from the public and interested parties on the Draft Application (2009 Application) before October 12, 2010.  The Draft is available for review at www.nircc.com and at the NIRCC offices located at One East Main St., City County Bldg., Rm 830, Fort Wayne, IN 46802.  Comments should be sent to: Matt Vondran, NIRCC, One East Main St, City-County Bldg., Rm 830, Fort Wayne, IN 46802 or matt.vondran@co.allen.in.us.
