Allen County Solid Waste Management District to close New Haven recycling location July 31
(July 22, 2010) – The Allen County Solid Waste Management District (ACSWMD) announced its intention to close its New Haven recycling drop-off location on Summit Street on July 31, 2010, citing a lack of volume. Serv-All Recycling operates the location on behalf of the ACSWMD.
The ACSWMD and Serv-All Recycling will continue to operate the recycling drop-off site at the New Haven Utility Maintenance Building until its official July 31 closing date to handle any recycling materials that may still be dropped off by area residents. After that, residents are encouraged to enroll in New Haven’s convenient, state-of-the art curbside recycling program, which uses new single-stream technology to allow them to deposit all recyclables into one cart instead of two separate bins.
If New Haven residents prefer to continue to drop off recyclables, they can do so at any of the Allen County Solid Waste Management District’s six other Allen County recycling drop-off locations, also operated by Serv-All Recycling:
- Scott’s Foods at 4522 Maplecrest Road
- Scott’s Foods at 4120 North Clinton
- Sam’s Club at 6736 Lima Road
- United Refuse at 5000 Smith Road
- Serv-All Recycling at 4400 New Haven Ave.
- Kroger Foods at 218 East Pettit Avenue
Hours of operation for the drop-off sites are:
- Monday – 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
- Tuesday/Wednesday – Noon-4 p.m.
- Thursday/Friday – 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Saturday – 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
- Sunday – closed
