Press release from IPFW:

Annual Three Rivers Festival Ice Cream Social at IPFW

It’s a favorite Three Rivers Festival event—the annual Ice Cream Social and Band Concert at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW), Monday, July 12, 2010. It’s an experience from yesteryear—enjoying an evening sitting in lawn chairs eating ice cream and listening to a band play, while children twirl on the grass with the nostalgic music. People are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket, relax, and enjoy dessert with entertainment.

The Ice Cream Social will again feature the Fort Wayne Area Community Band. Another flash from the past—ice cream is just 50 cents a scoop. Music will be played and ice cream will be served from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The event is open to the public. Parking and admission are free.

Due to construction on campus, the location will be in “the center of campus” on the Science Building Mall. All campus parking lots and garages are in close proximity to the area.
