FWCS celebrates the class of 2010

(June 8, 2010) – Fort Wayne Community Schools will celebrate commencement for its 2,015 graduates this weekend. The students leave their high schools with varied future plans. Some will pursue higher education at colleges such as New York University, Cornell University, Indiana University, Purdue University and University of Michigan. Others will take time to study abroad, join the military or continue working on the technical training they need to start a career. Before embarking on their new adventures, they will come together one final time as the Class of 2010 for their graduation ceremonies at the Memorial Coliseum.

Procedures set for commencements are designed to established dignified ceremonies celebrating the students. Those entering graduation must have a ticket. Tickets were issued to students at each school to share with family and friends. Those arriving late to a graduation ceremony will be allowed into the ceremony but will be directed to the back seating section of the Memorial Coliseum arena or expo. No one will be allowed to enter the area where the graduates are seated once the ceremony has started.

All graduation ceremonies take place at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum at the following times:

  • Wayne – 6 p.m. Friday, June 11
  • Elmhurst – 8:30 p.m. Friday, June 11
  • North Side – 10 a.m. Saturday, June 12
  • South Side – 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 12
  • Snider – 1 p.m. Saturday, June 12
  • Northrop – 4:30 p.m. Saturday, June 12
