Sealing to finish Friday and Saturday

(May 27, 2010) – The final stage of the resealing of the Parkview Field concourse will take place Friday, May 28 and Saturday, May 29. This final step of the process, that will better protect the concrete and create a more attractive surface, will cause a portion of the concourse to be closed during these two days.

“The final stage is to caulk all concourse expansion joints,” Parkview Field Facilities Director Tim Burkhart said. “This will allow the concrete to freeze and thaw without damaging the concourse or the concrete sealant itself.”

The North and East gates to Parkview Field will continue to be open from 7:00am until dusk on both days while the sealing process is completed. Areas affected by the closure will be clearly marked; no through traffic will be allowed in areas where work is being done. Those visiting the TinCaps Administrative Office along Ewing Street, the Parkview Field Ticket Office, or the TinCaps Team Store will not be affected.
