Mayor Tom Henry “Gets Tagged with Downtown Larry”

Press release from the Downtown Improvement District:

Mayor Tom Henry “Gets Tagged with Downtown Larry”

Mayor Tom Henry was tagged in a photo on Facebook with the newest Downtown Fort Wayne celebrity, Downtown Larry, on Monday.

Mayor Henry and other Fort Wayne familiar faces are joining in on the Downtown Improvement District (DID) contest “Get Tagged with Downtown Larry” which was created to invite Fort Wayne pedestrians to tag themselves in photos on Facebook with Downtown Larry for a chance to win TinCaps tickets.

Downtown Larry is the DID Clean & Green manager who can be seen driving his Kawasaki Mule through the streets of downtown Fort Wayne 9:00am – 5:00pm on weekdays. Those who take a picture with him and post it on Facebook will be entered into a drawing to win four TinCaps tickets.

The winner of the contest will be announced on Thursday, June 3 by WMEE at the first DID Lunch on the Square concert series event at One Summit Square.

Contestants must upload their photos with Downtown Larry to the Downtown Improvement District Facebook page (Downtown Fort Wayne) which can be accessed by going to www.downtownfortwayne.com and clicking on the “Join our Facebook” link.

The Downtown Improvement District’s Clean & Green program began in the summer of 2007 with the primary goal of creating a clean and safe downtown by removing weeds, litter, graffiti and other items from downtown sidewalks. Larry is the manager of this program and works hard to keep downtown streets and sidewalks clean and free of any hazards to pedestrians.
