Press release from Allen County Safe Kids:

Allen County Safe Kids Coalition Offers Free Child Safety Seat Inspections as Part of Click It Kickoff
More than 250 local law enforcement agencies participating in annual campaign

Allen County Safe Kids and its lead organization Lutheran Children’s Hospital will offer free child safety seat inspections from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, in the parking lot of Foellinger Theatre at Franke Park. Child passenger safety technicians from Lutheran Children’s Hospital and other Safe Kids coalition members will inspect seats on a first-come, first-served basis.

The inspections are offered in conjunction with a local Click It or Ticket kickoff news conference taking place that day at 10 a.m. at the same location. The Indiana Criminal Justice Institute and the Governor’s Council on Impaired and Dangerous Driving are launching the annual campaign this year at several regional locations to expand public awareness about the life-saving benefits of seat belts and child safety seats.

Click It or Ticket will take place around the clock in Indiana from May 21 to June 6. During that time, more than 250 local law enforcement agencies, including the Indiana State Police, will be out in force to ensure all passengers are buckled up.

Anyone unable to attend the child safety seat check Wednesday may call Lutheran Children’s Hospital at 260.435.7887 to schedule a free inspection at a later date.
