Applications for Next United Way CEO Now Being Accepted

United Way of Allen County is looking for its next great leader. Applications for the Chief Executive Officer and President position vacated by Jerry Peterson are now being considered by the CEO Search Committee. For confidential consideration, qualified candidates should email CEOSearch@uwacin.org or mail a letter marked “confidential” to: CEO Search Committee, United Way of Allen County, 334 East Berry Street, Fort Wayne, IN. 46802 (no phone calls please). The deadline for application is June 4, 2010.

Former United Way CEO and President Jerry Peterson’s last day was May 1, 2010. He is moving to California to pursue a new career.

A search committee comprised of nine Board Members has been established and is chaired by Ron Turpin, United Way of Allen County Board Chair. The Board of Directors will make the final hiring decision.

“We are committed to doing a thorough search and finding the next great leader of United Way of Allen County,” said Ron Turpin, United Way Board Chair. “The new CEO/President must be a proven leader with strong relationship management skills and a demonstrated passion for community engagement, resource development and initiative building.”

The CEO/President is responsible for the overall leadership and management of United Way of Allen County. This includes management of staff, fundraising, fiscal and legal oversight, budget development, program planning, relationship development, community engagement and active involvement in the development and implementation of an endowment strategy.
