Lane restriction on Covington Road during repair
Area affected between Sycamore Hills Drive, Eggeman Road until about 5 p.m.

Covington Road will be down to one lane of traffic between Sycamore Hills Drive and Eggeman Road until about 5 p.m. today as City Utilities repairs a cave-in that developed on the north side of the bridge. Crews will control traffic in both directions during the day.

After the repair is complete, the patch will be covered with a steel plate and the roadway will reopen to traffic in both directions. City will work on a permanent repair for this structure as soon as possible.

Drivers can use the detour of Homestead, Aboite Center and Eggeman roads during the repair.
